Digital Cytology has landed!

Digital cases veterinary cytology

Digital cytology has landed!

We are proud to be the first in the world 🌎 to introduce digital cytology in our online cytology courses, as collaboration between VetCPD and Lacuna Diagnostics.

Digital cytology allows you to visualise and navigate through the smears at the computer having the same experience and freedom as sitting in front of the microscope. This feature has recently been introduced as diagnostic tool in a few veterinary diagnostic laboratories all around the world but so far, has never been used as a teaching tool for vets 🧑‍🏫 and we are very proud to be the first to do this. 🎉

By joining our online courses (on top of the webinars, study material and live forum), you will have access to a selection of digital slides and will be able to look at them at the computer in full freedom 👩‍💻, as if you are in front of the microscope. 🔬 You just need a computer, internet connection and a link that we will provide you, no additional programs or complicated instructions, easy peasy! You will be the one choosing which areas of the slide to look at, which magnification to use, which cells to consider and which elements to ignore etc… This is the best practical way to learn cytology as, when solving cases from static pictures, you are biased by the selection the pathologist has made. By doing this, we will recreate what happens in real life and you will become more confident 💪 for when it will be time to go back to the microscope in real life. 🔬 After you looked at these digital cases, you will have the opportunity to watch a recorded video guided solution I have prepared for you.

I hope you will enjoy this new feature and you are excited, as we are, to try this for the first time in an online course. 🎉
